CONSTRUCTION OF A NEW TRAM LINE

THE PROJECT AND ITS REQUIREMENTS

In Karlsruhe city centre, the road network reached its breaking point. An innovative transport plan, known as the ‘Kombilösung’, was developed to relieve congestion in the city centre; this includes the redevelopment of Kriegsstraße. A new above-ground tram route is planned for local traffic, with an underground road
tunnel beneath it for through traffic.
 
The Badisches Staatstheater, which is currently undergoing extensive renovation and extension work, is also on Kriegsstraße. Consequently, the building’s footprint will be closer to Kriegsstraße and will therefore be exposed to higher levels of vibration and secondary airborne noise from that street. This would limit the usability of the newly planned rooms.
Appropriate countermeasures are required to make the visit as comfortable as possible.

Die Lösung

Geplant und eingesetzt wurde ein leichtes MasseFeder-System von Calenberg als mechanische Isolierung zwischen Straßenbahngleis und Umgebung.
Die elastische USM 1000 W wurde unterhalb der Gleistragplatte installiert, als Seitenmatte kam der Typ USM G 1032 zum Einsatz. Durch die Verwendung dieser hochwertigen elastomeren Gleisbettmatten wird eine schwingungstechnische Entkopplung der aus dem RadSchiene-Kontakt entstehenden Vibrationen bewirkt.
Somit werden diese Erschütterungen isoliert und das Übertragen in den Untergrund verhindert.
