🚉 Enhanced passenger comfort and protection of track superstructure components
Since autumn 2024, Karlsruhe's public transport company has been modernising the rail infrastructure in the Daxlanden district.
🚧 In addition to maintenance and renewal work on the tram line section, several stops are also being redesigned to be barrier-free to increase mobility and enhance passenger comfort. 🗺️
🌳 Besides improving the microclimate by creating a green track, noise emissions in the neighbourhood will also be reduced. This will be achieved by installing a flat-bedded mass-spring system from Calenberg. Due to its tuning frequency of f ≤ 20 Hz, the USM Type 2020 is ideally suited to protect residents from vibrations and structure-borne noise from passing trams.
Approximately 2,200 m² of USM Type 2020 was installed in the protection area and USM Type 3000 in the transition area at the load centres of this section of the line. The elastic Cisador bearing was used as a side mat over an area of approximately 600 m².
💹The advantages of our products are evident here:
✔️ Robust and extremely durable material (same lifecycle as the track system)
✔️Precise customisation of USM types on site
✔️Possible drainage underneath the floor mat thanks to the cone studs
✔️Longer stability of the track position
✔️Uncomplicated installation
