🚉 Expansion of the tram network in Mainz

🚧 🛤️ As part of the tram expansion, a route is planned for Binger Straße.

The route network borders closely on the adjacent buildings and therefore requires measures to minimise vibrations and structure-borne sound propagation. 🚅
This necessity is also underlined by vibration studies. The solution has been executed as a flat-surface bedded mass-spring system with a tuning frequency of f ≤ 20 Hz. In this case, Calenberg's high-quality elastomeric USM types 2020 and 2030 are used to meet the requirements.
To this end, approx. 1400 m² of USM 2020 types and approx. 300 m² of USM 2030 types were installed as floor mats in the transition area within the protected area. Cisador was installed to insulate fixtures such as manholes, water inlets and cable crossings.

📈The advantages of the USM types can be summarised briefly:
  • Relief for residents from rail noise✔️
  • Protection of the rail system and reduction of maintenance requirements✔️
  • Possible drainage underneath the floor mat thanks to the cone studs ✔️
  • Customised packaging for rapid installation ✔️
