NEW INNOVATION CENTRE AT AIXTRON SE
SEMICONDUCTOR RESEARCH FACILITY WITH THE LATEST AVAILABLE TECHNOLOGIES
THE PROJECT AND ITS REQUIREMENTS
AIXTRON SE, a leading company in the semiconductor business based in Herzogenrath, has been extended by a new building in the immediate vicinity of the existing office and laboratory buildings. The new facility was erected on an area of approx. 60,000 m² and comprises an office building and a research & development centre. This consists of a laboratory wing with technical centre, an area for testing and manufacturing prototypes and a logistics area.
With the static component bearing of the new building, the conditions of value retention and building safety for the entire lifetime of the building were met.
THE SOLUTION
The bearings of the precast elements and the steel construction were executed with various Calenberg products. Building authority-approved static bearings were predominantly used, such as the S 65 compact bearing and the perforated bearing type Z for load centring. In addition, larger movements are enabled as planned by means of the Civalit sliding bearing system. Linear load transfer to supports was implemented with the likewise building authority-approved bi-Trapez bearings from Calenberg.
