THE FONTENAY HAMBURG

THE PROJECT AND ITS REQUIREMENT

There is a new eye-catcher at the „Alsterufer“: The luxury Hotel „The Fontenay“ opened its doors at 19th of March 2019. The distinctive design of the only FiveStar-Superior-Hotel in Hamburg has been projected by renowned architects. A modern structure arose with sculptural shape with three interlocking circles which impresses with its curved construction and roof.

To be able to thermally separate the structure and thus avoid thermal bridges and cold bridges and prevent possible structural damage such as mould formation, it was necessary to find an elastomeric structural bearing that could meet these requirements.

THE SOLUTION

During implementation of the project, great importance was placed on the use of top-quality construction materials. This is why projecting structures were thermally decoupled using Calenberg compact core bearings. Benefits included increased living comfort, an increase in the value of the building and lower energy costs.
