Photovoltaics for Calenberg

Calenberg attach great importance to sustainability and climate protection: new PV systems now produce environmentally friendly solar power at both locations.

The PV plant in Losheim, that began operations in 2022, supplies approx. 138,000 kWh of electricity annually with an output of 135 kWp. The self-consumption shares amounts to approx. 85%, the remaining electricity is fed into the grid. 25.5% of the total electricity demand can thus be covered and more than 50 t of CO2 emissions can be avoided at the Losheim site.
Since 2021, two PV systems in Salzhemmendorf have already been producing a total of approx. 65,000 kWh of green electricity per year with an annual output of 30kWp each and cover approx. 40% of the consumption there.
In addition to resources and costs, this saves a total of approx. 24 t of CO2 annually.

Thus, a good beginning has been made by reducing CO2. Further measures relate to efficient use of raw materials, modern and resource-saving production and recycling will be implemented successively.
