NOISE CONTROL ON RAILWAY LINES

New transport concepts mean traffic is be shifted from roads and onto railways, meaning rail traffic and residential developments are concentrated in a limited space. This brings negative consequences for inhabitants. Noise control measures are taken to reduce this noise pollution and comply with immission limits. Effective noise control measures include low noise barriers erected along railway lines close to the track. Noise barriers are designed in such a way that the side facing the tracks is sound-absorbing; the sound would otherwise be reflected several times between the vehicle and the wall and emitted over the wall. The shielding effect would decrease.

The Cisilent® Type G sound barrier by Calenberg absorbs any noise energy occurring and minimises reflection. The combination between the supporting shell and infill provides high sound transmission insulation with a low mass per unit area. This delivers pleasing, streamlined constructions.
