SOUND INSULATION FOR CONSTRUCTION SITES

Construction sites are located next to existing buildings and are associated with high noise levels. Residents find this noise source extremely disturbing both day and night. It becomes harmful to health if different building phases are prolonged. Construction noise is caused by activities such as drilling, pile driving and excavation work, noisy construction equipment and machinery, and the use of heavy vehicles. Noise control measures are required to protect residents, passers-by and construction workers from noise and must thus comply with statutory immission guide values.

For many construction projects, a noise mitigation measure is mandatory to ensure that the project can be completed on time and avoid delays due to stoppages caused by residents’ complaints.

The use of noise barriers and enclosures, whether they are stationary or mobile, will provide significant noise reduction. The mobile noise barrier Cisilent® Type E has excellent absorbing properties. It can be attached to scaffolding or any other substructure and moved for different construction stages, providing sound insulation and reducing noise pollution where required.
